Receive payments by card for Weddings and Funerals

We've now released a new feature which allows your church to receive payments for Weddings and Funerals directly through your Church Organiser account.

Since the Life Events Diary launched in 2019, it has allowed you to manage the fees and other costs associated with the services but now you can actually request for payment directly within the Life Events Diary.

Within the Finance tab of the Wedding or Funeral you will be able to send an email with a secure and unique link for the Wedding or Funeral to be paid.

You can decide the amount to receive - it could be full or part payment for the Life Event service.

For weddings, you can choose if it is the Bride or Groom who should receive the email, or you can add another email address if given one by the couple.

For funerals, you can enter the email address of the Funeral Director or other payer.

To Get Started

To get started with taking payments you will need to setup iKnow Processing so that you can take secure payments through your Church Organiser account:

Go to Finance > Settings > Legal Entities to setup iKnow Processing (See tutorial). This process may take a week for your charity to be validated so it is best to get this process started before you are ready to take a payment.

Once your account has been validated for iKnow Processing you will be able to request a payment for Weddings and Funerals using the Request Payment button.

The payer will then receive an email with a secure link to make payment for the Life Events service

After payment has been made, the money will arrive in your church bank account on the following Monday. Your treasurer will be able to see it within the Finance module as soon as payment has been made. It will also show within the Finance tab for the Wedding or Funeral.

What are the fees for processing Wedding and Funeral payments

All transactions will attract fees and for the Weddings and Funerals they are the same fee as processing Donations through The Church Organiser.

Can anyone make a payment for the Wedding?

Yes - if the couple have given the email address for someone else to pay for the Wedding then you can enter this email as the recipient when requesting the payment.
